CUTTING
Elgin M-60
plate may be cut using Plasma, Laser, or Water jet. Carbon arc air rods
may be used to gouge or pierce the overlay.
FORMING
Elgin M-60
plate may be formed using a hydraulic press and round edged forming
dies. It is best to have the direction of the overlay beads ninety degrees
to the bend while progressing in small increments around the circumference
of the bend, the flat lead and finish to be trimmed after bending complete.
When Overlay is on the inside of bend:
Overall thickness 14mm or less with Overlay 6mm or less Minimum Inside
Radius 150mm.
Overall thickness 22mm or less with Overlay 8mm or less Minimum Inside
Radius 350mm
When Overlay is on Outside of Bend use a Minimum of Twice the above Inside
Radius.
Elgin M-60
plate may also be rolled to a generous radius, protect your roll from
the overlay using a sleeve or plate.
MACHINING
Elgin M-60
plate is too hard and tough to machine.
The overlay may be Ground, Arc air gouged, Plasma cut, or EDM burned.
WELDING
Elgin M-60
plate is readily welded into wear resistant fabrications for use by
an unlimited number of industries to combat their most severe abrasive
environments . Simple procedures ensure weld integrity while maintaining
optimal wear protection
